But what shocks her more….is the instant chemistry between Cassidy and her ex boyfriends father…Dr. Its been tough for her, but they have been together for three years and she never thought this would be the result, but they have drifted apart and both have changed in ways that just aren’t compatible anymore. The Doctor is a story about our lead heroine, Cassidy who has returned home from college and she has felt that it is time to move on from her current boyfriend. She definitely convinced me that I needed to try this one and as a fan of dark romance at times, I definitely found myself intrigued. I will say I probably wouldn’t have dared pick this one up if it wasn’t for the gal at the “Book Refuge” a romance tuber on YouTube. But I have found that I need to push and stretch my limits at times, and yeah you could say that this one did that but not quite in ways I was expecting. The Doctor is the first book of the “Nashville Neighbors” series and I will say that I had a blast with this one here and I am probably just as surprised as anyone because this is a story that definitely pushes my boundaries. It was a longing not for the miniature garden for itself, but for something just beyond it-and the feeling was its own reward. Looking at a miniature garden his brother once made in the lid of a biscuit tin, his young self was overcome with a longing that was at once painful and delicious. It was through another game with his brother that Lewis first got the feeling that he calls “Joy”-the theme around which this book centers. ![]() ![]() ![]() It was the last book Taina was reading when she died.
